Patagonian in Phoenix or San Diego

Just thought this looked like a sweet bird for someone who was looking for one. :)

Anyone have any feedback on what kind of temperment these guys usually have?

Every bird is different... but just speaking from experience?

I thought that bird looked familiar. His name is Boogie and his owner used to post regularly on these forums, and has several parrots. I am quite shocked to see him for sale and hope that something has not happened forcing his mom to rehome all of her birds. Just wanted to post that on the owner's website her exact words about this particular bird is:

"Boogie is a Patagonian conure and was my first parrot (well after Mr. Purple Cheeks).

He is totally in love with me…to the point that he thinks we should have sexy tiem. I don’t know Boogie’s hatch date or where he was born but he is about two and a half years old.

He is, like all the other birds, fully flighted. Even though he can fly he spends his days atop his cage patrolling and protecting it from unwanted intruders. The Dude is right there with him…lol

Boogie can say ‘Hello’, ‘woo hoo’, and can wolf whistle.

Boogie does not like anyone but me and will bite the sh** out of you if you try to touch him. He is a very…special bird."

I am not trying to stir up ill will, but just wanted to point out that on the owner's website (I have the link if anyone wants it) it paints a different picture than the kijiji ad. Maybe things have changed, as the website has been up for a while (hence the difference in age between the ad and the website posting) but wanted to point out the differences in temperament listed between the two.

Oh wow! I wonder why she's selling him, and I hope he goes to a good home. :(

I know who your talking about.... she used to post a lot here... I recognize the names of the birds!

She was trying to teach the Dude to say, The Dude abides or something like that...

That is curious.... hopefully the birds will get good homes!

The bird in quesiton is very sweet - once he gets to know you. Until then, like most birds I know, he's stand-offish and can be bitey towards pushy strangers. He does stalk the top of his playtop though, monitoring his domain!

The person selling them is trying to do the best thing for her bird, and she's very particular on who gets him. She's an exceptionally good bird owner. The reason she's rehoming him is very valid for her situation and isn't an easy decision for her at all, she loves this bird.

So, if you're interested, please do contact her.

*waves to those she knows*
