I wouldn't get it. I just want to check if it is real. If not then it is getting flagged. But someone on here might be interested in one.

Wow, you never know, it would be great for someone to be more interested in the bird's welfare than in money. I really hope it's legit and he gets a great home. It's so rare you see ads with reasonable adoption fees, and real concern for the bird.

My jardine's was $200 it was really good to see that the owner wasn't just wanting to get a bunch of money for her. I think he just wanted to get her to a new home though. So glad that her first potential owner fell through!

I wish all people are CL were like that. It usually is a fake or there is some serious problems with the bird. I have never seen a macaw in my area on CL so this should be interesting.

It is very possible. I paid $400.00 for my Miligold and her cage from Craigs List. Anything is possible.
Of course after the initial visit I wasn't leaving without her and I would probably have paid more.

From my personal point of view, when rehoming my birds was thought to be on the cards if I was terminally ill, I had no intention of selling them. They would have been given, 2 tiels, 5ft5 high cage, food to the person I had vetted as a good home. I rehomed 2 sc2's along with their outdoor aviary and food for free as well a couple of years ago. I may be in the minority but I am sure others are out there with their bird's welfare at heart. These people may or may not be but we are out there.

I'm the same way Angelsmum. I'd rather my babes go to good homes than to someone just because they can throw around money. I've asked that my family not charge rehoming fees for my animals should anything suddenly happen to me. If I know in advance, I will make sure my birds are in good, loving homes when I go and I don't expect a dime for them.
