Talking We're home....

I didn't know where to post this, really. Used to the conure section, but she's no conure...

She came right to me when I went up to her cage. She lowered her head for scritches right away. She started talking on the way home. She says "Polly" (I have to say it just doesn't fit her), and 'pretty girl' and 'pretty bird' and 'Hello' and some other things. However.. she also BURPS!! She does this frequently...sounds like a great big guy burping. So, my wife immediately is trying to get her to say "Excuse me" afterwards.
I have some pics...from the back you'd not know she plucks. She also had some bad diarrhea on the way home, but also had a normal stool. However, after the diarrhea, you could see her vent moving... I have her scheduled to see an Avian vet on Friday. Now to the pics..

In the truck right after we got her in there

This is since we got home

I knew it was just a matter of time.

Poor baby, she looks rough.

I got permission... and if I can't get anywhere with her, Anna has graciously said she would take her. She does look a little rough... too many years of neglect. However, she's very interested in her surroundings, is making sounds constantly and talking like crazy... she is 'acting' well...although I'm not naive enough to think that means she's well.

Are you going to keep her?? Wow, she really plucked her breast bare!

Good job on rescuing her Jag......you did a good thing! I'm sure she will blossom with a little attention! And hopefully gets some manners, the burping would drive me nuts!

I don't know if I will keep her. It depends on her.. and me...I have been offered support by some members here who have grey experience. Anna has graciously agreed to take her if I can't work with her. However, she is responding well to me... except for the burping. Oh, and she does have pins coming in on the bare spots...so maybe she will re-feather?

I love the burping! My CAG has recently started burping super loud, he emulates the dogs lol. My bulldog is quite the burper, and when he burps I always say "piggy piggy" So I guess Henry wanted in on that action, so he burps and expects a "piggy piggy".
