You see a bird on CL or any other site for that matter that you think is overpriced then surf on past.

It's so hard when emotions come into play. I have found a sweet 3 or 4y/o sulphur crested cockatoo at a pet shop near here with a ruptured air sac which causes pockets of air to rise upwards in his face and his skin swells up like a balloon with air. This can be a sign of an injury or disease.
I have done so much research on this bird (not sure if you've read my thread in the too section or not) but they are asking $899 for this bird. This is THE most expensive i've seen for sale in the past 5 years... He is tame but not THAT tame that you would spend that kind of money.
For a bird that could need SURGERY that asking price is RIDICULOUS! So no, not every price you see advertised is 'fair,' even if someone is willing to pay that amount. I have fallen for this bird so bad that i would pay the $899 just to get him out of there, but then the vet bills after that could pretty much cripple me. Even though i would pay it if i had the money, that price is NOT FAIR.
People have a right to complain about high prices, just as you have a right to complain about the complainers. That's the beauty of expressing our opinions and the right to free speech.
