Please help me re-home my Senegal
I have a Senegal named Twinkie that needs a new home. I have had him for approximately 2 1/2 years. Twinkie needs a new home b/c my daughter has significant allergies that are being triggered and affected by the bird. I love my bird, but I love my daughter more.
Twinkie can be a handful; he loves attention. He favors females although he has let my husband pet him through the cage. I am able to take Twinkie out of his cage and pet him. He enjoys sitting on my shoulder but I have to be careful b/c he likes to pick at my neck. I have even taken him outside and sat on the patio with him without him flying away. He is vocal. He knows several phrases including "What's up" from the beer commercials! He likes to chatter and I often cannot decipher what he is saying. Twinkie can be cantankerous at times and it did take a while for me to be able to pet him. When Twinkie gets consistent attention, he is at his best (just like humans, I think). :) |

Hi,
I have had some issues with allergies, also and I found that if I did two things it really helped and I don't have any problems: one is to bathe the bird at least once a week and the second was to get a powerful air filter that cuts the allergens. You could try to do that and see if it helps - in the meantime, anyway. I also find that I almost get used to a new animal after a little while - at first there is a reaction but it seems to diminish... |
