Sun Conure to a good home!!!

Hi Everyone!

A co-worker of mine has a 9 yr old tame sun conure available. They say that they need to rehome her because their grandson has a peanunt allergy and cant be around the bird. He was on a seed diet, but they switched him to pellets at my request (I was debating taking it, but cant handle the sun conure noises!) I have not seen the bird yet. If anyone is interested, I can put you in touch via email with the owner. I would be willing to help transport the bird a distance if anyone is outside of Minnesota (nothing crazy people! Im not coming to Texas! ) Please let me know. My coworker is a little upset that I backed down from taking the bird, (even though the subject was only touched on briefly!)

Not coming to Texas!!! What!! Who would not want to come to South East Texas!

It must be hard to give up a feathered friend after all those years. It is nice of you to help in finding the sun a home.

So the grandson isn't allergic to the bird, just peanuts, right? And the problem is that there are peanuts in the pellet mix? Can't they switch to a different brand/mix of pellets that don't contain peanuts? Not sure how the peanut allergy is related to them needing to get rid of the bird.

Is this a situation where they are looking for creative solutions or are they just looking for an excuse to get rid of the bird? Because this "issue" seems surmountable, as long as they aren't getting rid of the bird for some other reason.

No, I totally agree and brought up that fact since the bird is now switched to pellets, but they are still wanting to rehome her.

I have found that when people get rid of pets they tell you whatever makes it sound like it is not their fault...
