When I did rehab work, I raised a crow. I dearly loved him. His name was Joe.
Every morning when I walked into the kitchen he would bow down and with his deepest voice say , Heeeelllloo." He would raise up on his tippy toes and then bow back down to finish. LOL

He would holler "MOM" whenever I left him in the room alone. He would go through wood perches like toothpicks. He would also peck your toes if you didn't have shoes on. Hurt too!

I had him for many years. I don't remember how long, but I was told he had outlived his life expectancy long before he passed away. He went peacefully in my arms. That is where he felt safe.

I love Crows!

Thanks for taking care of the little guy. He looks so cute! He sure hasn't developed a fear of humans yet, but I guess they are all like that when they are little.

Thank you for doing that bird a favor.

About a month ago I found a baby robin when I came through my back door. It was sitting right in front of my garage, and one of its wings were sticking out. It was easy to see it was broken, so I called for my mom. She didn't want a wild bird in her house, so I called the wildlife rehabs. They said to bring the bird to them, which, obviously, I couldn't do.

So I waited with the baby until my dad came to pick me up. On the drive home, I told him about the bird. When we reached home, we got Aree's cat carrier and a towel and headed back to my mom's house. By then, the little bird had hobbled into my neighbour's yard. Their dog, an energetic boarder collie, was luckilly inside the house.

When they didn't answer the door, my dad walked into the back yard and chased the baby (who could run suprisingly fast!) until he got the towel on him. We put him in the carrier and drove off to the Rehab center.

All was well in the end. The robin, who we named Sophie, was released in a wildlife sanctuary. And I got to help a wild bird.
