Question trumpet vine bad for the dogs?

I'm interested in getting a trumpet vine to attract humming birds, but was told that it might be poisonous (not to hummingbirds, but to the dogs). anyway, is it?

If it is the same as the Angel Trumpet....Then I know that it is very poisonous to humans ! As far as the vine, I know it attracts hummingbirds. Strange enough it is on the "poisonous list for birds (in general).

I found this on a doggie safe garden page:

http://www.petplace.com/dogs/how-to-...en/page1.aspx:

The 10 Least Wanted

The following is a list of plants that is best to avoid altogether due to their toxic nature. It is not a comprehensive list, if you are considering any plant of which you are unsure; consult your local plant nursery.

Castor bean (Ricinus communis)

Oleander (Nerium oleander)

Morning Glory (Ipomea sp.)

Japanese Yew (Taxus cuspidata)

Jerusalem Cherry (Solanum pseudocapsicum)

Foxglove (Digitalis purpurea)

Nightshade (Atropa belladonna)

Lily of the Valley (Convallaria majalis)

Precatory Beans (Arbus precatorius)

Trumpet vine (Campsis radicans)

Trumpet vine attracts ants too
My chihuahuas have been biting the honey suckle vines. But they are bird safe.
