Eastern Rosella

Here is a photo of an Eastern Rosella. I beleive it is a male, as the female seems to have the green tint all the way up to the red nape of the throat.

Rosella's are pretty. They have a bell like call in one high note. They are all along the Eastern coast of Australia.

They look like a pheasant in the wild. I've seen them at shows. They look better outside don't you think?!

I followed it about 50 meters. There were two sitting in a tree and they flew off in different directions (trying to confuse me which isn't difficult). This one landed on the stick and posed. He flew off right after I snapped this shot and rejoined the other.
