Thanks for that.I only wish you could hear their call.We have a pair that nest on the back or our land.When they do flyovers they call out the most mournful sound.

Maybe someday I'll be able to hear the call of the sand crane. Unfortunately, I don't think there are any here in Hyde Park, NY. I grew up in South Florida so I imagine I did hear their call at one time, although, at the time, it probably didn't mean a whole lot to me.
