Bald Eagle

Yesterday, when I was driving back to work from making the bank deposit, I saw a large Bald Eagle circling over head. I took a few minutes out of my work day, got out of the car, and stood to watch him. They are so magnificent. We have a bunch down here in Florida, but I havn't seen enough of them yet to not get goosebumps when I do see them! Heck, like I say, I still get super excited when I see dolphins! I am an Indiana/Chicago girl, after all!!

Wish I could have gotten a photo but my point and shooter camera doesn't do zoom so well. I have my eye on a Canon EOS Rebel XT and a 400 mm lense, I just would like to get my credit cards paid off first (how long have I been saying this?!) and that'll be a year and a half *SIGH*

Oh yeah, I've read great things about those EOS Rebels, would love to have one too. I don't care how many eagles I see, they're always gonna give me goosebumps. The other day one flew across the road in front of me, only about 25 feet up. He was fighting the wind so it was almost like he was hovering there. They are spectacular!

Hey Missi I saw 2 doing a courting dance way up in the sky. We were golfing in Naples and I think everyone just stopped in place. They kept soaring high up & would lock together spinning downwards it was incredible!

We all shot our worst game that morning...

About 20 years ago, a buddy and myself flew into a small fishing camp in north/central British Columbia. It was on a large lake with cabins etc. but we were the only ones there. The plane drops you off then comes back in 3 days to pick you up. Anyways....I had never seen so many eagles in one place..dozens....some were fishing, others appeared to be going after something on the ground whilst others just soared above us. It was really something to see.

I was told later that some native indians considering the sighting of an eagle to be a good omen.

No winter home at least not yet (lol). We stayed at the Naples Grande Resort and we played at their club almost every day. Do you know it? We also took some strolls into Old Naples. Nice break from the cold up North..

Oh yes, I know where that is! How nice! Yea, to have a winter home down here would be expensive. Heck, we're struggling to even find a normal full time home for us being that all (decent) housing STARTS at $300,000 then not to mention homoe owners insurance that will kill you! Sick of living in an apartment, though!
