A Celebration of our Feathered Friends

Hi Everyone,
I am a member of a club in Orlando called Parrots in the Park. It's a social club that meets once a month at Lake Eola in Orlando to "socialize" our birds with others who love their birds.
We are in the process of working on a National Day for Birds. We are in the early stages of creating a proclaimation and Mission Statement. This is unlike other National or state "Bird Days." This is a pure celebration of our feathered friends. And not just our parrot friends - all birds.... from chickens and ducks to falcons, eagles, cranes, emu's, you name it.
What we are looking for are other "clubs" that love birds...people who show chickens, falconry, audobon society...anyone who would be interested in an annual festival to celebrate these incredible animals. We want it to be fun, educational and a positive event for all who love birds.
I will be very honest in stating we do only want those who wish to participate for the pure joy of owning and/or loving birds. We are staying clear of "activist" organizations. If you know of any clubs that may wish to participate in such an activity and would be willing to sign a proclaimation so we may get our mayor to declare a "Bird Day", please email this information to me.

Hi Kim, I am sure when Samm sees this, he will be interested. Some Aussies recently started doing this too in Brisbane-having BYOB (bring your own bird) BBQs! It's lots of fun!!
