Smile I am so lucky!

Today as I was taking my three doggies for a run, I heard an unusual sound. Suddenly I recognised the sound, heaved the dogs to a stop and looked up. The eucalyptus trees are in flower now, so there were red flowers dotted in the leaves- and on a bare branch almost directly above me sat a male gang gang cockatoo! His head was the same bright red as the flowers and he had those cute tufts on his crest. Then just above him I spotted his mate and her baby! It was the baby making all the noise, begging for food, and every now and then the mama would feed him and he would spread his wings and gulp it down, albeit noisily!
It was so amazing seeing this in the wild, where they trully belong! It's not often I see gang gangs down here either so I feel pretty special to have seen them today!

...Of course the dogs couldn't care less!

there are some conures that are wild in San Francisco but I haven't seen them... how awesome to see something like that!

I wish we had more wild birds around me, we just have the typical ones...
