Some bird pics from Yellowstone...

I was in Yellowstone National Park back in October of last year, and I took the following pictures. Enjoy!

The bird with the long tail, what is that? It looks like the raven is hoping you'll feed him since he's waiting on the car!

Gorgeous pics. Love the magpie and the raven.

What kinds of jays do they have there? Do they have scrub jays? We don't have them here but I would love to see one someday.

I am not sure about the jays - I will look that up and post it.

The black and white birds are magpies.

Oh, and I DID feed that Raven! LOL He got nuts and dried fruit (for birds) that I "happened" to have in the car. He sat on my car as if to insist I stay! LOL

I love seeing birds in the wild!

It that one with the long tail a magpie? Our magpies in Australia are very different!

Cheers,

Bulli

That is a Black-Billed Magpie - very different from the magpies in Australia! Here's a link to more information about this bird at the Cornell Orinthology website...

Oh my effing word, that common Raven (corvus corax! :D) made my heart leap. The mother of all Raven species! She is so beautiful, just look at her! What a superb girl. Look at those feathers shine- and those hackles! *melts* I can't wait to meet my first corax... we have two species here in Melbourne- the Australian Raven (corvus coronoides) and the Little Raven (corvus mellori) but they are both much smaller and less majestic and powerful as the Common Raven. Also, they have white- blue eyes.
I've always wanted to go to yellowstone! *scrolls back to Raven and melts some more* Did you hand feed her??
Thanks for sharing... would I be able to use the Raven pics plz? You made my day! :D

er... excuse the language, I'm overwelmed- not crazy.
