Some Of Our Local Ducks & Geese

I just wanted to share some of our different array of birds that hang out at a local park. I love going out there and we always see strange critters.

This guy cracks me up, i call him aphro duck.

Somebody actually told me this wasnt a duck..Im thinking ok what is it then? LOL

Such a pretty critter

Cant remember what kind of geese these are, but they are funny when you go visit them.

I have no earthly idea what this one is, and have even tried looking it up but cant find it.

This thing...is just ugly LOL just like that snow goose, he is the only one of his kind at the park.

Have no idea what these are either, but thought they were neat.

The birds in the bottom picture are cormorants, and I think that the duckwith the red head right below the two geese is a mergansar, but I'm not sure.

Cormorants? sounds like a fruit hehee
Thanks for the info on those guys.
As for the duck I thought it was a merganser too but none of the pics I saw really looked like this guy. They have a big white spot on each side of their head, this guy doesnt...or maybe its a specific kind of merganser, who knows. One day I'll find out.
Appreciate the help on those 2 though.

Vicki

First photo - domestic duck (I'm not up on my domestic breeds, sorry!)
Second - American Coot (you're right, not a duck. They have lobed feet, not webbed like a duck's feet)
Third - Canadas (obviously!)
Fourth - Domestic Greylag goose
Fifth - A Lesser Scaup (a diving duck). The one in the upper right corner of photo #3 is also a Scaup.
Sixth - Mallard and ... good lord, looks like a domestic crossed with a Northern Shoveller, strange looking fellow!
Seventh - a pair of Double-crested Cormorants

All right except the fifth photo is a ring-necked duck, not a scaup. but the white shoveler X mallard is the wierdest (of many wierd) ducks i've seen.

Weird mix

I have never seen a mix like that! We get lots of species of water fowl here even in the city.

I thought the fourth pic would be a toulouse goose. But the toulouse and the greylag almost look the same anyway...not sure how big greylags are but toulouse geese are really big.

Gorgeous pics though.
