I noticed a female cardinal flying back and forth to a tree in our front garden and went to investigate. This is what I found:
New Eggs 2.JPG almost lost an egg... Taken on 4/10/09 New Eggs 4.JPG Taken on 4/11/09 Mama sitting on the nest New Eggs 5.JPG new baby Taken on 4/23/09 New Eggs 10.JPG Taken on 4/29/09 - getting those new feathers. This tree is less than 6 feet tall and the nest is at about 4 feet. It is by the front door, through which a VERY large dog regularly goes in and out. Not a smart place to put a nest . There are 3 eggs in the nest but so far (and I don't think that will change) only one has hatched.Just wanted to share the wonder!
