help the other birds are eating from my hummingbird feeder

So I bought this hummingbird feeder to attract hummingbirds. So far a whole bunch of other birds have visited my feeder but no hummingbirds. What should I do? Any advice would be great. Thanks.

I think the hummingbirds will discover it eventually, and they'll take their turn too. In the meantime, you have lots of birds to watch! The only other birds I've seen at hummingbird feeders are orioles. What birds are coming to yours?

I never had any good luck with a feeder for hummingbirds, but I had Trumpet vines, and other flowers that I planted that got all kinds and sizes of hummingbirds to come. My oldest boy and I got some of the hummingbirds to land on our fingers.

Wow, that's cool to have them land on you! I don't use hummingbird feeders anymore, because we have fruit bats that drain them at night. Too much trouble to take them in or cover them each night with everything else to do around here. But, I do make sure my garden is full of plants favored by hummingbirds and butterflies, and we have lots! I love to see them in the garden. Also some fruit trees for orioles and other fruit eating birds (Strawberry Guava, regular Guava, Loquat).

I am also getting other birds at my humming bird feeder. I have had a blue jay and a woodpecker. The woodpecker seems to really like it. I don't know why this is happening this year. I have had feeders up for years and never had this happen before.
