What kind of bird is this?

I just took photo's of a bird and was hoping someone here knew what it was. I know it's a woodpecker but after looking at the variety of red-headed ones online none have matched the appearance of the bird I seen. Thanks in advance.

I think it is a pileated woodpecker. We call them flying chickens!

It is a Pileated Woodpecker. The Pileated Woodpecker was the model for the cartoon character Woody Woodpecker.

Here's a link on them:

It's Woody the Woodpecker! :D At least, that's the bird he was modeled after-- the pileated. Man, I've never seen one in real life before. Very cool!
