* Anyone who knows me knows that I have dreamed of adding a Blue and Gold Macaw to my life since I was a child, but timing and circumstances in life just never seemed to facilitate my dream actually coming true.........until NOW!** As fate would have it, I was finally to the point where I could afford to seriously persue my dream, and spent many hours looking at and researching breeders for just the right bird from just the right aviary. * Then I found an aviary located in Pennsylvania and contacted them.* I could tell they were as interested in the well being of their birds as I am, and I'm now awaiting my beloved Tiku to complete his weaning so he can come and join my family!
I've been blessed to have found this aviary, and the owner has spent much time talking with me and updating me on Tiku's achievements, and progress, and also sending me some wonderful photos of my new baby. So, to Dutch Hill Aviary, I say Thank You!!! Thank you so very much!

Wow, the seasons change in less than a heart beat in the midwest!
You'd think since I've lived here my whole life I'd be used to it, but the older I get the more amazing it seems that nature can go from a sunny 72 degrees in the morning with a stiff southwest breeze to a rainy 60 degrees with a stout north wind in less than an hour!
BRRR!
With this abrupt change, the trees have really started showing their color...even more so today it seems.
A large number of the trees in the woods that surround our acreage are black walnut so we have lots of yellows mixed with greens, red/oranges and these pretty little 5-6 leafed vines that turn a brilliant red climb up the tree trunks. There's also numerous bittersweet bushes dotting the wooded landscape to add their little orange berries to the chorus of colors. I love autumn and with the rain we've had, the soil, tree trunks and branches are very dark making a vivid contrast with the varied palette of colorful vegetation!
It's absolutely breathtaking to look out across the pasture and behold all this beauty.
God, what a glorious day you've created today! I thank you, Father, for allowing me to share in the beauty of your masterpiece!!
Until next post...
