Upon looking back at past photos, I'd assume that Sweety was female (though harder to tell with some pieds, and inos), and Spidey was a male. Upon further looking, I also noticed that Spidey appears to be a violet factor bird.... and if that's so, I am going to assume then that he is a light green bird that appears dark green... As far as Sweety's cere, I had assumed that it looked white, unless I may have been wrong. Though for it to turn white to pink, I wouldn't know! Interesting though you say that...

If your budgie is a recessive pied, albino, or lutino, it will develop a pink cere if its male. Sounds like your budgie may be a recessive pied male.

Most inos and some pied males do develop a pink or tan colored cere. I even saw one albino male budgie who had the blue cere (amazing, actually! I've seen the tan in photos as well-though the usual is pink). Budgies only get more and more confusing the more we learn about them!

I've never heard of/seen a male budgie with a tan cere... But the one thing we can always count on is that a female will have a pink, white, tannish, or brown cere. When out of breeding condition they can have a white cere with a blue tinge but never bright blue like a male. And if it ever gets deep brown and crusty-definitely female. :D

I've never seen an albino with a blue cere, are you sure he wasn't just a sparsely-marked doublefactor dominant pied or a darkeyed clear?

It is confusing, yes. But I think I've delved into it so much that it's (almost) second nature these days. When I first got my cockatiels I absent-mindedly tried to sex them by their cere colors for a second! Lol.

The male budgie with the tan cere I saw in photos. I new that it was a male because the other bird was female (no doubt), and they had raised a clutch of chicks together. All I know is that females usually have a white (with possible tints of blue and/or tan), tan, to a crusty brown (or red) cere. Males USUALLY have either pink or blue ceres.

As far as the albino male, he looked completely like an ablino, though he may have been a dark eyed white. I can't say for sure as I only saw him in photos as well, but boy did that blue cere look gorgeous on him! He even paired up with a female and they had chicks of their own.

I keep hearing that and Spidey is doing his best to fertilize her up till today so he either got tired of trying or succeded. I put a nest box in for her so she can do her thing if she dose
