I think I found the budgies I want!

Finally, after searching all over I think I founf the budgies I want. Yes, that's budgies, with an "S". I just need to find out wether this person will ship them. The whole package includes the cage with a stand, 2 birds (1 english budgie, 1 american), food, and toys. All for $38 USD! I'll just need to donate that big pile of stuffed animals to charity (which I was going to do anyway) to make room for them. The good thing about the spot I've chosen is that it's near the heater (not close enough that the birds will touch it though) and sometimes my room can get a bit chilly at night, so along with the heat from the heater and a good cage cover, they should be nice and toasty. ^_^ Here's the ad for the birds/cage.

There's some pictures of the birds too. (The american's name will be wing unless wlready named something else by the previous owner) I still need a name for the other. I was thinking Chekai (no meaning) or Satu (Japanese for Fairytale). But first, I want your advise, do you think this is a good deal? Or should I consider something else?

Both birds probably will allready have names, it looks like they are being sold by a family.

I would recomend at least finding out how old they are first before you make any decisions, and if they are old find out their medical history if there is any. You want to make sure none of them has some condition you dont know about.

That's about my only advice, it's a good deal money wise, but you have to ask yourself, why are they being sold so cheap? The cage has to be worth more than that alone.

I'm a bit suspicious, they could be lowering the price to make up for problems with the birds. i.e. they just want rid of them.

Good luck whatever you decide though, I hope they are healthy and if you get them all goes well for you.

Thank you red192. Tomorrow I'll be bringing the "bin of stuffed stuff" to a charity. (They have a building down the street) Along with that, I'm going to budgie proof my room, even moreso than before. Anyway, even if I can't get these ones, I'll at least know I'll have room for the cage! (The place I saved on my dresser was taken by a printer!) I first thought I wouldn't find a place for the cage until I remembered that I was giving the stuffed animals to charity.

Ok, after looking over the pictures of the birds and looking at this page on how to sex budgies (http://www.geocities.com/budgie-place/p_mf.html), I've come to the conclusion that they are female. The website says that a light blue/white cere is a female, and that's what they look like in the pic. Can anyone second this, or say something otherwise?

They both appear to be females to me as well (when I first looked at the photo of them). I believe that both are actually american budgies, as neither appear to be english nor appear to have any english in them...

Just check out this thread and scroll down and you'll see what I mean...
Just a reminder...

I used to have two cages similar to that, minus the bottom half.... they were "one story" cages, not "two stories". I'd say though that it's a good price if you are able to get them but I don't think they'd ship them through the mail... maybe deliver them though...

I know that if they ship, it most likely be through mail...but probably a delivery company shipped by plane. I sure hope I can get them, I think it's a good deal...let's all hope they are in good health though. ^_^

most of my birds have been adoptees, none have had health problems, and the reason they were cheap is the fact that people just wanted to not take care of them any more, the mess and expense etc,I think it was more than they bargained for,so I have gotten many for "cheap" and some for free with cage included,I am happy with all of mine!
