Quik Stop should only be used for feathers and nails... It is NOT good for around the beak or on skin... Corn starch or flour is better.
IT would be best to find an avian vet and get her checked out. If need be, the vet would probably wrap her foot up after cleaning it, and put a collar on her. I once had one of my budgies in a tiel cage (with another girl). Well, Noel and Casey went and looked around the room and Noel got stuck on the floor. She ended up getting on top of the cage, and bit the end of the toe off... Well, Sophia would pick at it and it continued to bleed. She even CHEWED no the very end where some meat was hanging off! Foot injuries are not NORMALLY a problem for birds, so I ended up separating her from the others, cleaning the wound best I could, taking the top to a yogurt container, made a SMALL hole in the center (learned that budgies necks are smaller than what they appear to be), then from the outside, using scissors, cut into the middle. This way, I had made a temporary collar which worked. It was tough for her, but after being in it for a couple of days she stopped biting at her toe, it healed over just fine, and no problems since! I don't recommend you do this however, as it's very stressful on the bird, and if the hole is made too small it could hurt the bird, yet too big the bird could take it off. When they are in a collar they need millet or something they can eat on. Vets can sell collars for budgies that should be $5-$8, MAX $10 probably.

nOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! Don't EVER use Quik Stop on any wound. When you use it on a broken feather or toenail, it chemically burns the wound.
Your bird may have a bacterial infection and it should be checked out my a vet. Foot problems in birds can be serious, so don't play around.

Hmm, I didn't know this about the Quik Stop. My AV gave me this after I explained about Lulu's broken blood feather on her wing and she also used this on Jerry's toenail because Jerry squirmed when having his toenails trimmed and this resulted in the vet trimming to much and his toenail bleeding - she used Quik Stop for this too. She also told me that it was safe to use on cats and dogs if they had a cut.
I'm confused, it is or is not safe to use on broken feathers and toenails? And not safe to use on skin or around beak because of the chemical burning?

I don't care to use it at all, from what I heard about it... It could damage the birds mouth if they got any in there... and think about how much birds like to preen! I'd rather not chance it, so I'm sticking to good ol flour!

A lot of people recommend it, at least for the wings and nails. Not everyone out there is knowledgeable about Quik Stop (at least the down sides to it). I just decided that since there's a possibility for harm, I'd rather not take the chance. I suggest for you to find some pro and con articles on the subject, then speak with your vet about this... she too may not know!

In addition to the chemical harm.... I've been told that quick stop is made up of particles that easily get into the air. It's probably not safe to use near birds because of the possibility of them breathing it in.
I use flour. Works Great. But please, have it's foot checked by a vet to make sure there is no underlying problem
