Yes it is possible but there are different kinds of clips and IF you decide to get your budgie clip, be sure that it is a safe clip so that the budgie can still flutter safely.

Some people are very strongly against clipping but others feel it is sometimes necessary (for both the budgie's safety and/or the safety of any other birds in the house). Some people here have their budgies clipped while others do not.

If you do keep your budgie flighted, be sure that you and everyone else in the household, is willing to follow some rules to keep your budgie safe:

Close all windows and doors when budgie is out.
Do not cook with budgie out.
Do not leave any standing water for budgie to fly into (boiling water on stove, fish tanks, toilet bowl).

If you are trying to tame your budgie, clipping can help. It is possible to tame a budgie without clipping the wings, but it will most likely take longer.

Thank you...Yesterday I let her out of her cage and she flew around the room. It was very hard to catch her. I was hoping I could clip her wings. I will call around and see if there is an avian vet in my area.

Yes, if you have never clipped wings before I suggest having an avian vet do it. Good luck!

I didn't let Laker out of his cage until he was calmer around me & my hands. I didn't want him flying into the wall or mirrors. And actually he goes back into his cage on his own - for water & food breaks so if you sit & read she may just go back herself - I added a perch by putting the ladder against the open door.

At first they aren't strong flyers anyways - especially if they had been cage bound for a while. There's a huge change in our bird's stamina in just under 2 months.
Laker is flighted.
If you trim they will grow back.
wing clip info - http://www.exoticpetvet.net/index.html & a good site over all.

PS - clipping will take 2 people
