Thanks, that is a good site.

Makes me think about the solitary issue again, that's for sure. At this time, though, I'm not ready to bring in another budgie.

I didn't see that info yet. Is it bad to have just one Budgie? Pogo seems to be just fine being alone since he's super bonded with me and has tons of toys to keep him busy. He certainly doesn't just sit around and do nothing ... he's non-stop playing every night for 4 hours straight!

I read the page on the solitary thing. My parents are making me leave Misty all alone when we go on vacation this Christmas break! She's always had Merry & Pippin when we went on vacation before. What am I going to do? She'll probably die of loneliness!

I read the section on solitary Budgie keeping. Not sure if I agree with it all. If a bird gets daily attention from the owner, I really don't think it's going to be that detrimental to the bird to be alone for part of the day. I could see if bird sat in it's cage all alone for days on end ... that might bother it, but to be alone for a few hours? ... I can't believe they are that sensitive unless they were always around others and then separated.

Pogo was very young when I got him and he has bonded to me very well. He shows no signs of depression or loneliness. I'm sure he somewhat "bored" when I'm not home, but I don't think it's messing him up in any way.

I don't totally agree on their solitary theory either. It looks as if the creator of the website is not American, and I know that some other countries sometimes have different ways of thinking when it comes to bird keeping. For example, toys were not mentioned, and it made it seem like it was geared more towards people who do not interact with their budgies on a daily basis. Jerry does get interaction on a daily basis and I rotate his toys every week so that he has enough to keep him occuppied while I am away at work.
