Is it possible for a budgie to minic a conure screech?

I am just wondering to day if a budgie is trying to mimic the suns. Usually the budgies answer suns by a loud budgie chirp, a sort of 2 sylable word. Today I heard a mini sun conure screech single sylable word comming from a female budgie it is not a sound a budgie normally makes, in answer to the suns. The pet sun don't often get into shouting mode which can go on and on, they usually just make a single call and do a lot of muttering.

It wouldn't surprise me if they can! Budgies can be excellent mimickers!

I would bet money that a budgie can mimic a conure. My budgie has my cockatiel's calls - every single one of them - down to a science. His calls are not as loud as my tiel's calls are, but pretty darn close! There is also another member here whose budgie was previously around finches and sounds like a finch.

thanks I nearly thought I was going crazy, just lucky it is a soft spoken conure screech. Maybe the suns will start talking budgie.

lol my grandmas old budgie that I inherited years ago used to mimic the clock ticking on the wall and the door creeeeeeaking open loudly. Wouldn't surprise me at all if yours picked up a sun screech.

Uh oh They are quite the mimics, aren't they! I'm always amazed at how quickly Jerry can picks up Lulu's calls, and of course, human words.
