What Colors?

Ok, I've got some questions about my budgies colors. First off, what color(s) would you say my budgie is? Second, my budgies recently had babies, the father is pictured and the mother is just plain blue. So far they have yellow heads and wings. The oldest baby has a dark blue tail, dark rings on his wings, and looks like he'll be blue or violet. The other baby is still just white and fuzzy. Thanks for reading! :]

He is a beauty

You have a very handsome Yellow face type II [I'm saying this because the yellow is so strong & it bleeds into the body colour making it less blue] Opaline [body colour falls down the back & the head is almost all yellow] Grey Wing [because the markings appear grey not black or brown- aka Cinnamon] Clearflight - if I'm not mistaken [because of the white Flights].

I can't see if the body has any bands of colour on the chest - if so it would be a Dominant Pied instead of a Clearflight Pied.

You can post some more photos - I know they don't always photo like they really look. My Laker is a Yellow face & he often photos closer to a white face & his blue is always looking a different shade. After his last molt he also had a yellower bib, like your guy has - but he's never displayed this before. I am concerned that it is a 'nutritional deficiency' in our case.

Regarding the Grey Wing - sometimes it is a Dilute factor only. My Budgie Rio is considered a Dilute by some & a Grey Wing by others & still others call him a Grey wing Dilute! - I am trying to get to the bottom of it. I recently met a Budgie breeder from Israel who has Grey wings & she said she'd send me some photos to compare.

They say if you breed 2 Yellow faces together you will not get any yellow faced babies - that is the extent of my breeding info.

Thanks for the help! So far the babies are looking adorable! The oldest is going to be greyish blue with a yellow face that fades to white. He has a yellow and dark blue tail and white wings.

On the younger it is still hard to tell but his wings are going to be all white. His face is light yellow and he might have a little greyish on his back. Thanks for all the help!

Thanks! I'll need names for the babies. I'm not sure what gender they are yet but I'm thinking their both male. I was thinking Indigo or Indy for the older one and Miracle for the little one.
