Happy belated birthday and gotcha day, Star!

I haven't really been able to come on here much, so that's why I didn't post it..

It's Star's 3rd bday and gotcha day. I got her at Petco so we did not know her real birthday, so I made it the day we got her which was on April 24th.

Me and Star have been togather for 3 happy years. We were always there for each other, she was extra nice when Sunny died and then turned back into the little brat I knew.

I remember the first day I saw her beautiful face through the glass. She stood out like a sore thumb but I did not care that she was albino. I was told not to go for albino because they die quicker, but me and Star have proved them all wrong. She is the best, most beautiful little girl I could ask for and I am so lucky to have her.

Many people have told me, "oooh she is so rare". I just smile. Do they
actually think I care if she's rare? She's my baby girl! I love her personality and her funny antics. They light up the room, and my life. It is hard to imagine what life would be like without my budgie.

Happy Birthday and gotcha day, Star!! I love you.

My silly girl.

Some short little animations I did.

Great photos & congrats on 3 years together!

I have a question - do you let Star out? She's so pretty - it would be nice to see photos without the cage.

Happy Day Star! She is quite beautiful. I was wondering about her getting out too, since all the pics are in the cage.

Thank you, everyone!

No, we don't let her out because of something that happened when we first tried it.

Hi Star and mommie: I understand you have a good reason why she cant come out anymore. Are there any possibilities where you sweet honey girl could find a suitable space to get out and exercise her wings somehere there? By all means having a safe area is the ONLY way to let your budgie/parrots fly in..... anyhoo, best wishes to your sweetie;)

Yah - i agree - especially know that you are older. You can supervise the bird better.

After being in the cage for so long i don't expect she'll be all over the place at first, anyways. Laker really wanted out of the cage. I made him learn step-up in the cage before i let him come out. I closed off our room. The first few days he was out he never left the bed area - he climbed all over his cage & the metal bed boards. When he started to fly it was only short distances & he was breathing very hard.

I also did a lot of reading in my room while he was out. I didn't even wander around. So by letting him check things out on his own & not being frightened - but Star is not like Laker was - she already likes you.

I think you should think about it.

I don't think there is a place for her to fly, she doesn't even seem to have an interest. I have tried many a time to hand tame her but she is very frightened. My parents don't really want her out either, so I doubt it. When I live in my own house/apartment, and I have a budgie I will definately tame him from a young age to be able to fly around. I had no clue my parents wouldn't let her out, so I got her. If I would have known I wouldn't have gotten her, but now I know and I won't get a bird in this house again.
