Louie does this too
Head tucked under his wing, one leg tucked into his body, talking softly while his body and tail quivers Seems it is a sign of a very happy and content budgie It also seems they may be practicing new words and phrases to add to their collection Brad & Flock |

My Jerry is a violet factor but the violet "glow" doesn't always show up in photos - probably something to do with the lighting but I don't know much about photography. I also know that some people who have sky blue budgies (I think it's sky blue), the photos come out more bluish-green.

![]() Some colors just don't come out well on the screen... probably doesn't matter for the fact that different moniters have different screen settings... i.e. different contrast, hue, brightness, etc. In some moniters you CAN fix it, but not all, at least not that I've figured out how... I have a normal cabolt budgie (some call sky blue) that can sometimes appear lighter than normal.... his mate is a sky blue violet.... In the below photo, Smurf the light one is made much brighter than he really is.... ![]() Here's a better photo, of the two sitting (one flapping) from across eachother. This photo gives you a better idea of his true color, and helps show the violet in his girl ![]() Of course I also have a normal green dominant pied as well as a violet clear-flight... here's a couple photos to show the difference (and no, you can't really see the violet factor/coloring in a GREEN budgie...) ![]() ![]() Of coures I've got another which I guess is called a dominant pied violet skyblue.... she has both sky-blue and violet spots which is interesting... ![]() ![]() It's not always easy to capture that violet coloring... thus some of the photos HAVE been enhanced to bring out that violet color so one could get a better idea rather than a violet bird looking like a dark blue bird.... I don't have any dark factor birds to compare the violets to, however I have noticed that the blue violets tend to have violet in their tails.... as seen in the two bellow of the two blue girls tails (which again, have been slightly enhanced for the color to really show through) ![]() I haven't had a chance to get a picture of the tails of the normal budgies (normal cabolt blue and the normal green dominant pied) or one of the violet green for comparison....
