Question anyone breeding english budgies ???? help ..

Hello, I'm very new here. I breed Lady Gouldians and Green Singers. I would love to get into breeding english budgies. I have two males that I bought as babies and hand feed them myself ... ( yes, I do have lot's of experience)
My husband found me, I think a female.... but ... she is all yellow, no bars or markings. She looks like an over grown canary ... ( she is NOT a canary )
Does anyone know how these are breed????? She is the most amazing english that I have ever seen. Anyone have any ideas ???
Thank you

You'll need to have a fairly good sized cage with a nestbox meant for english budgies, fresh foods (i.e. fruits n veggies), and you need to make sure that the birds are atleast a year old before breeding.

What is your current setup for them?

Hello

Hello monica,

I have fruit's and veggies on hand at all times because of the finches I breed.

The cage size is 20" long 15 wide.

The nest box is a parrakeet size.

Do you happen to breed them ?????

Thanks for getting back to me. Anymore info you would like to share I would love to hear it.

The cage sounds good enough for a breeding pair. Can the budgies get into the nestbox??? If not you'd have to either make the hole larger or buy a larger box (but not one larger than cockatiel nestbox). Be sure they have safe nesting material.

If they are atleast a year old, though don't show much interest in the nestbox, you can pin up a piece of cardboard over the nestbox enterance, with a small hole in the middle. This might intice the female into destroying the cardboard and taking interest in the nestbox. You can also try putting food dishes or treats near the nestbox to entice them.

I don't have any english budgies, just one normal american budgie, and one slightly larger, but not english. I haven't successfully bred budgies in the past, though I have bourkes. I haven't bred any birds for over 2 years however.

Been breeding and exhibiting for 20 yrs. I cannot teach by email. TOO One sided. Will be glad to teach you what I have learned ups and downs. YOU DO NOT want to breed hand feds of any sort. You either have pets or breeders. OR have a Grand Canyon full of patients. 336-643-5274 B4 10pm EST and have a legal pad handy.
