Babies, grown up!

Here are my chicks. The oldest 5. All of these have now left the nestbox at least for a little while. Two are out all the time. They have all successfully eaten some seeds but are still being fed by their dad.

(I have turned our garden bathtub into a chick playpen! We never use it otherwise, and it's easy to vacuum and scrub out after they play)

I don't think I'd better. My husband has been a great sport but I think that would be pushing it. I plan to sell most of them. I told my kids we could keep one. We keep changing our minds on which one! I hope to keep one of the opalines, If it is a female so I can pair her with my green opaline recessive pied male. I also plan to pair the same two birds that produced this pretty batch of babies again next year. :) Let's see though, how well I am able to rehome the current babies.

Oh, as far as doing a great job, the parents did most of the work. They are not very friendly as pets but they make super parents.

They're beautiful, and they say the best parents are the non-tame ones, so you've done well. I wish I could have one too! But Lucki would be angry if I gave my attention to another bird instead of him!!!!

I absolutely adore them! They look very lively and healthy! I love the colors too! When I get another budgie someday, I want this color! Give them to nice homes!
