Lucki was laughing at me!

This morning I was happily bouncing down the stairs into the main living area to go and talk to Lucki when I tripped over the vacumn cleaner hose lying across the second to bottom step.. the hose knocked over a box of glassware sitting beside it and made a terrible (and loud) smashing sound. Meanwhile I went flying very fast to the other side of the room and I could hear Lucki making a very quick flight up to the ceiling of his cage. Anyway, I turned to look at him to make sure he was ok and calm him down if needed, but he was upside down on the top of his cage, and had turned his head all the way upside down and around backwards to look right at me, and he started making the weirdest twittering noise at me which sounded EXACTLY like the budgie version of laughter. Then, right away he hopped right down onto his rope perch and carried on his laughter while nodding his head rapidly up and down while still looking at me!

It often sounds like they are laughing.

When we get 2 or 3 or 4 people together & we are talking excitedly about something - the Budgies start up a loud squawking - kind of trying to copy the party sounds.

Your Buster Keaton routine must have been pretty impressive. Perhaps he was excitedly asking you if you were OK?!

I'm glad to hear you didn't hurt yourself - next time no vacuum hoses on the stairs!

Lucki also gets really excited when I listen to music and loves to actually jump along his calcium perch - so funny to watch.
