Question parakeet bonding

How do you bond with a parakeet? One of my parakeets, Charlten, can step up and kind of wave hello with his foot. Some times he can also fly to me whan I call him. What else should I teach him?

Just teach him to sit on your shoulder with you while you do stuff about the house, and chatter to him while you are busy. If you have more than one bird do this with all so that they can all get in on the act of lovin you! Just a thought.

Monika is right. Just try to interact with her(him?) as much as you can. I have a really good bond with Tallon but I'm with her all the time. The more time you spend with them the better the bond, I just wish I could get her to talk. She dose all kinds of noises but wont talk. Any one have any idea's on that. I even whent and got a "Wordy Birdy" cd and leave it on when we go out but nothing. I keep expecting to come home and have the dog start talking but the darn bird wont.

with talking, my male just picked stuff up on his own. he's been with us for about 7 months and started this is the last 2 months i'd say. Just talk to her and if she learns, cool! I wouldn't make it the main goal though with a bird. they're still smart and neat pets even if they don't talk. Also you have a female and they're known to be less of talkers than the males, though it's definatly not unheard of!
