This may be a very useful technique to tame wild budgies faster.

My budgie Jupiter is wild, and as people know Wild budgies are indeed much harder to tame. Most of the taming techniques I tried on budgie websites did not work with Jupiter until the other day browsing youtube I found the video of Banco the chirping budgie. If you play this video your Budgie will go absolutely crazy over it and chirp back. Even better, because of this video he calms down and is not afraid of the family anymore. I only had to play the video a few times and after that he started working on his own. And after the video, he does not fear me, flying on my finger, or jumps back in fear.

I My theory I believe is having the laptop or your computer next by you and playing the video, your Budgie is thinking that these chirps are coming from you and seeing how the wild budgie speaks in chirps and various noises it makes them feel more welcome as they don't have to take the time to learn phrases like "how are you" or "pretty bird".

I am not sure if this is true to every budgie, but indeed showed very good results for Jupiter and I was impressed. For the video go on youtube and type "Banco the budgie" it should be the first result with a green and yellow color morph. Hope this helps to some fellow bird owners

Yes the first one - Banco was a wee green budgie sitting on a perch cheeping away. Looked pretty ok to me, but Lucki didn't seem to agree! Maybe Banco was talking a different budgie dialect or something, cos Lucki doesn't really cheep the same way.

I have no idea. I got Lucki off a woman who had brought him for her daughter, and the daughter had quickly become bored with Lucki and never even named him. He was put in the porch on the ground with all the tools and his cage was small, rusty and filled with poop and seed husks. So he was pretty wild and scared when I got him last year, but now he can say 'Lucki' and 'boy' and happily sits beside me in his cage cheeping and seems to laugh at me everytime I bang into anything around the house (which I do frequently), whereas when I got him he would flap wildly round his cage if I so much as moved. Maybe he just thinks Banco is prettier than him, so he's upset at me for putting it on... cos I'm always telling Lucki that he's the prettiest!

I played it for CP and she just sits there on her Happy Perch on my computer desk and listens. I have been trying to play other videos and she never responds....just listens.
She is still trying to get used to being out of her cage and being around me so maybe that's why.
I'm sure in time she will come around and start singing away...!

Thanks for the suggestion...
