Red face My two new additions

After years and years I finally have my own BUDGIES! (had to beg my mum A LOT)

I had (sort of) a Budgie that was going to be given to me, but they kept changing their mind and I ended up telling them to keep the Budgie! I could only go visit her then due to me living in a Unit and I wasn't able to get anymore animals.. my plan was once we moved, to go get her and bring her to my new place, but it didn't happen.

On July 24th, I went to the Pet Store and I spoke to the woman for a bit and she seemed like she was pretty good with Budgies she told me which ones are male and female, I said I want TWO males, not one of each sex, well she started going on about if I get two they'll never be tame and all this other crap so I told her to just get me two males and I shoved the money on the counter. She said someone only just brought in a heap of baby budgies not long before I got there - so I had first choice, yay! Well I got them, brought them home, and they ended up being a male and female. It doesn't matter though, I still love them and I'm going to separate them because I am pretty sure these two are related.

They're being quarantined of course, but once it's finished they'll be in my room with my 8 Cockatiels and in a couple of months, a GCC! (Keiko - the Quaker is in my mums room)

Anyhow, I have named them, after 2 days of being nameless, lol.

Sierra (female) is pronounced see-ERR-ah and it is of Spanish origin, and its meaning is "saw". (very odd but beautiful name lol)

Reiko (male) is pronounced RAY-koh and it is Japanese origin, and its meaning is 'beautiful; lovely child'.

This is Reiko..

And Sierra

And my babies together..

The flock is getting bigger, not quickly, but slowly and I'm loving every single one of my birds, they're all so precious and I couldn't be any more happier - seriously. When I get my GCC my flock will be complete.

Thanks for letting me share & I hope you like em'!

Nah, they would probably attempt to kill each other.

There is:
4 female Cockatiels in one cage
4 male Cockatiels in one cage
2 Budgies in one cage
1 Quaker Parrot in his own cage

I only have the 2 Cockatiel cages in my room at the moment, Budgies are in the loungeroom, Quaker Parrot in my mums room.

I'm planning on breeding two of my 'tiels in a couple of months. (Tilly and Jasper) But I haven't ever bred before. It's alright, you can ask as many questions as you want.

Thanks a lot Matt, much appreciated.

Ooh exciting! What will you do with the offspring? I will be eager to see what mutations they produce.

Also, I have my tiel's cage in my room, she is a bit clumsy and I have to clean birdseed up quite often, how do you manage with 8 in your room? O_O
