Questions About Color and Size

In the wild, are males more green (darker) than females?

My 2 year old budgie is bigger than my 4 months old. At what age does a budgie reach its full size?

I think that budgies reach their full size at around 8-10 weeks of age. The natural colour I have heard that is most common is yellow and black dull.

Budgies also come in two "sizes," known as pet/wild-type/normal/american/parakeet, or show/exhibition/english, usually. And due to these different sizes, when bred together, will create sizes inbetween.

In the normal colored budgies (i.e. green, yellow face, blue tail feathers, black "shells" or markings), males and females look identical as far as coloration go (but not cere wise).

However, some budgies can look rather big if they are overweight.
