My new english budgie! Pictures.

I took the plunge and went and got her today. This is the first bird I have ever "bought" all of my birds are rehomes or rescues. I am so excited! He/She is so BEAUTIFUL! I love the little chunky body and head. No name yet, and I really dont know if it is a male or female, I guess I will DNA. He/She is approx 5-6 months old.

She is stunning. I think she is a girl. I don't know why. I have no real knowledge of these things. I just do.

Thank You! I think it is a female too :) Either way is fine with me. Personality is most important to me. We have already progressed to her coming up onto my finger! Not bad for the first night, 10 minutes of me very slowly inching my way in! She got her wings clipped for the first time today. Very neat little bird she is...

Wow she is soo beautiful!! You picked a real stunner there. I'm guessing a girl too, but dna will tell. I love the cage, and she has lots of awesome toys. I bet she hasn't worked out what to do with them yet though. Once she picks a favourite you'll learn what sort she likes and buy more of that type I guess and move the ones she doesn't use away. That's what I did with my Lucki. I've never seen a perch like that in my life. Has she got any wide perches as well?

Very pretty bird!! I'm going to guess girl too. The cere is kinda crusty like a hens would be, and sorta brownish in the last photos.

At that age. Its a Boy. Bright pink - It should turn blue eventually. Brown and crusty is only in mature hens during breeding hormonal changes. Gosh he iis cute! I have always wanted an English and its hard to pass them by at bird fairs. I see the rainbow ones and I melt.

This morning when I uncovered her she stepped RIGHT UP for me when I said up, up! She is crawling around on me right now and will sit and perch on my shoulder! I am so happy with her, I didnt know how long it would take to get her used to being handled.

Still not sure about names.. I guess I need to find out the sex. I like Inga and Vera for a female.
