Unhappy Sadly :(

I lost the little blue baby this morn. I was hopeing he was getting better but......he was just to deformed. The green i as happy and healthy and fat as can be. I dont think the mother bird fed the blue one enough because they.....well heis pretty much weaned and eating millet and seed. Baby blue was pickin at the seed and was eating it. I checked their crop through out the day to make sure they where eating millet bc they would hardly eat the formula. But he never seemed right. He wouldnt want to play like the baby green. I'm heart broke :( I was getting so attatched and I waited so long for them.

I'm sorry you lost your baby. Sometimes the parents will ignore a chick if they feel it isn't up to surviving or they can tell there is something wrong when we cannot. It is still difficult to lose one. Hugs

Awwwwww, I'm so sorry for you. I lost two chicks I was handfeeding this summer, and I had waited and waited for them too. Similar sounding situation. They were the very first babies of my 2 year old Tungsten, who I've had since she was just a few months old herself. It was so sad and I still miss them. But what a blessing for you to still have the green baby! That's wonderful!

Sorry to hear of your loss. I wouldn't worry if your green baby is a girl - you have her young enough that you can train her well, and also, females have been known to occasionally talk.

Oh its not the talking. I dont nor do i ever recomend someone to get a bird for the ability to talk. I dont want a female for the egg reason AND also usually not always but usually male birds can bond to female people better. I have seen female birrds with just as strong of a bond as any. heck I use to have a female red lored and she LOVED me! but i really dont want to deal with the egg layin and I've heard that the females are no t AS out going as the males. So idk yet what I'm gonna do. the lady we get our budgies from shoukd have some more babies soon. We are gonna ask her to pull them a tid bit sooner this time I think.
