Breeding, cere color

I have a male parakeet that is about 2.5 years old. His cere isnt completely blue and never has been fully blue. I want to breed him but i am worried about his cere color. here are his pics:

He looks pretty male to me. Of course it's always hard to tell with a photo. Is there any white at all round the nostrils? If there is it may be female. DNA tests aren't very expensive and just require a feather. Someone on here got one done a few weeks ago and it cost them about $15.

No, there is no white around his nostril. What im worried about is the purplish color. Is that normal?

The purple could indicate a female. I had a girl who went from bright blue to purple to pink to crusty brown!

thats odd because he has blue around his nostril near his beak with no white rings and his cere has always been blue/purple.

That seems weird. How long has it been like this?

Ever since I got him which was about a year and a half ago. He was 8-9 months old when I got him.

Looks like a male to me! Actually though, a males cere is supposed to be blue, and more purplish when he's ready to breed... but, there's a lot of info that's not correct because the birds quite honestly don't care. Why his cere isn't the blue it ought to be I don't know.
