Hi Corinne and all. I just registered on this forum. Corinne has been telling me about it so I thought I'd check it out for myself. Looks like some interesting topics. I thought I'd take a moment to explain the item(s) that Corinne got for her cage(s). These are fleece debris catchers that I make. They fasten with velcro so you don't struggle with them on and off like those circular ones. Fleece is very good at capturing the tiniest feather. Another gave the advice/caution about keeping claws trimmed with fleece and they are exactly correct. Any fabric with a pile, such as fleece, would be more prone to catching sharp claws. At The Cozy Parrot, we are very concerned about your bird's safety. It is of primary importance to us. So, we are the first to say, keep those claws trimmed up by using a pedi-perch or grooming if needed. Don't take a chance on a sharp claw catching on anything - whether it be our fleece products, rope toys or anything else. Safety first:) Glad to be here at the forum. I look forward to reading up on some of the posts.

Thanks Corinne. Yes, Dr. Burkett's presentations get better and better. This was a very good one. He should put up a video presentation of his presentations on YouTube don't you think? True Love Aviary has done a wonderful job using YouTube as an education avenue for bird owners. They cover everything from how to set up the cage to teaching foraging in their short videos. I am not quite the "tekkie" that Tamara is of True Love
. Heck I struggle with keeping my website up and running sometimesGlad to hear people like the Sleepytime tents. This product is one of those that is really hard to envision in just a still photo but they really work. Best thing since the bird buddy - great concept - a snuggle for your bird. And....those pedi-perches really help with the claws as Dr. B said. I do have to beg to differ for only one of my birds - my YNA - she has the right kind of pedi perches but still needs an occasional grooming. I guess it's that amazon thing of being a perch potato and not moving unless it's to get to the FOOD! LOL P.S. Wow - this IS a busy board:)

Kelly - you mean the debris catchers or the Sleepytime tents? The debris catchers really, REALLY do make a difference in the mess. I knew there had to be a better, more effective way to make these and after some trial and error, I found it.

My budgies were and are the "messiest" of the messy,I think they try to make a mess and this cage protector is the only one that came close to containing all the seed, pellets and feathers!,my worst problem is my one CAG,Rico, pulls it down some times to look at the budgies,he thinks they are toys at least he doesn't let them out anymore!
