New cage advice please.
hi,i have just built my bird a new bigger cage but the only mesh i can get anywhere is galvanised,i have read about washing it with vinegar to remove any loose powder on it but am still a little worried,i was thinking that i could reduce the amount of exposure my bird has to the mesh by putting sheets of perspex on the top, back and sides of the cage and then attaching the mesh over the perspex so that she wont try to fly through the perspex, that way the mesh will only be exposed at the front, and the bottom of the cage will be covered in newspaper, does anyone think that this might be a good or bad idea??????also the cage frame is made of pine, thats a safe wood to use right?????will try to post a picture of it if i can, thanks,Chris.

No, I don't think the perspex would be a good idea... maybe someone else would, however the bird would be trying to fly onto the mesh, and not understanding WHY it can't land on the wire mesh!
Yes, pine is safe... as long as it's untreated pine!
