Major score this weekend

This weekend my fiancee went to an auction and scored some goodies for the birds.

A couple of years ago I bought a huge cage for my CAG to replace the tiny one he'd spent the last 15 years in. He didn't like it. I think he felt so lost in such a huge cage despite the amount of toys inside and out. I tried for a year but he just never seemed comfortable in it. Well that has now changed.

He scored a Cal-cage 540 for $80.00. It has a few paint chips here and there and the grate doesn't look great but that is easily replaced.




He also got an Avian Adventures perch for Tutu. Only signs of use was a bit of chewing on the center perch near the food dishes. This one was gotten for $90.00.



Then he got another perch for $90.00. Much bigger and can be used with the big guys. Has some chipped paint areas but not so bad.



I don't know what or what for but he picked up another cage, a large cage for next to nothing. Thats sitting on the front porch and I don't know what else I'll be doing with it.

Now the two items for Tutu have already been scrubbed then pressure washed with Rocal-D then rinsed and then steam sterilized to make sure everything is nice and clean.

All in all I'd have to say that the man scored this weekend. Next auction is in the fall.

We needed a Tutu perch in the downstairs living room. Not sure where the circle perch is going to go. I'm thinking of leaving that one on the front porch once the cargo net gets moved there. Great place for the treats when out there...easier to clean up.

I may have a use for that other cage soon. Still working out some dynamics.

Just think, only 5 more months until the next auction!! woot woot

Last spring they had a huge outdoor aviary. Unfortunately John wasn't there to bid on it. (I'm not allowed to) There were also some nice double mac cages. Sure wish they had those this time around.
