I need to replace my tray because it is rusting, this is the one I bought for Buddy. He doesn't go down to it but still. And it is far pst the point of fixng, rusted thru in spots.
Anyway, I have read that galvanized metal is toxic. My other choices are aluminum or stainless steel. I think the stainless would be too expensive, I would probably be better off buying a new cage by then. If somebodu can let me know asap so I can get this done (or not) I'd appreciate it. I have been searching old posts too. Thanks! :-) |

You might want to seach on craigslist or other online bird chat forums for people who are selling cages and see if they would separate the trays? What color do you need and what size cage is it? If you are talking about the actual skirts/trays that go around the bottom of the cage on the outside, I also have 2 trays that I dont use...the actual tray that slides in the bottom of the cage that you place newspaper or a liner on? cash59@msn.com if you want to email me.

You can call a manufacturer that makes a cage with the same dimensions as yours and order a grate (horizontal at the bottom of the cage) to replace yours (if it's a grate). It doesn't matter too much if it's the same as your manufacturer, just that it's the right size. If it's a dust skirt, you can order those as well in the right size. You can find ferret cages and dog crates in pet stores that might have the size you need. Or get it made by a sheet metal shop.
