Question New Cage - Chipped Paint

We were at a bird fair just this weekend and picked up a couple of HQ cages. One was a larger cage for an Eclectus baby we're getting in a couple of months.

Dante

As I was putting the cage together I noticed one of the vertical bars on the top of the back piece had a spot that was kind of flaked off. I can see a different color, than the green powder-coat, underneath.

My question is: what do I do about it? It's not a large spot, maybe an 1/8th of an inch in size.

Thanks from your new lurker!

I might contact the manufacturer about it. Sorry I can't be of more help! Hope you get this solved soon. :)

chipped paint

If you mean you want to "touch" up the paint chip, go get a spray can of Color Place paint from Walmart $1.00 a can. It is safe for baby cribs and therefore cages -- WHEN DRY. I have been re-painting old cages for over 20 years using that paint. Of course, you have to take the cage outdoors, take out the bird (duhhhh ), and let the paint dry thoroughly. I have one very old iron cage that I have painted twice already and my birds are fine.

BUT, if your birds are voracious bar chewers, I would just leave your cage alone and not touch it up.
