What do you think of stacker cages

I am in the process of trying to make more space as I have to keep my tiels separate so they don't breed. I bought a kings cages economy line double stacker cage that I'm not sure if I should use. Now I'm worried the bird on the bottom might not feel secure enough. Each cage is 32" wide, 21" deep and 27" tall. I have my plumheads in the upper one and plan on buying another one and putting a tiel in the upper one and my bonded tiels that have to be separate side by side in the lower ones. The highest point in the lower ones is 44" off the ground. What are your opinions on this? Also on the size for keeping the two plumheads together in one? I"m trying to decided if I should just keep them all in thier old cages and deal with less space.
Thanks

I have a large Prevue cage on the bottom and a smaller (only a tiny bit in width) stacker cage on top. The lovies are doing just fine in each of them -- three on the bottom and two on the top. The top cage gets to about 6 ft. high, and the second cage is around 53" high. Your single cage is about what my top stacker cage is. Your tiels should be fine in them, especially if only one ot two to a cage. I don't see any reason that the birds on the bottom would not feel secure. My lovies love it and like that they are so close.

I use A&E stacking flight cages for my birds and it works out well. I just make sure the lower unit has enough light so it's not cave-like.

I use the A&E 30 by 40 stacker cages and love them. I just made sure to affix FS lighting to both units so they get enough light.

All of my cages are Kings cages - I have one huge cage for my grey 2 single flight cages which currently house 2 pairs of breeders and I have the exact stacker cage that you are talking about. Right now the stacker cage is empty as I am waiting for my new arrivals to fill the cage with, but it did house my ringneck pair on the top and a single ringneck on the bottom - the ringnecks on the bottom was completely secure and happy in the cage. There was never any problem with the height, so your birds should be perfectly happy in there.

When I first ordered this cage I was worried about how low the bottom cage actually would be and once I got the cage and put it together I didn't think it was really all that low, I was expecting it to be lower for some reason.

when i bred birds, i used stacker cages. I kept actively breeding birds in the middle or on top, and had to go to greater lengths to ensure the bottom birds still got their fair share of light. Stacker cages are great if you're trying to save space.

I guess I will be the first to say I dont like them. The bottom cage always looks dark to me. On top of that I wonder how the bird feels in there, it must be a bit depressing to only get to view the bottom half of people. And, lets face it there is no way that the bird can have as much room as they would if they had their own cage.

I know they can save on space, but shouldn't the first priority be the birds needs? I wish I had space for another bird, but I just dont right now so I will have to wait. I wouldn't get a stacker so I could accomodate another bird in my same limited space.
