If you're lucky enough to live on the west coast, California Cages are much cheaper and easier to find. I'm not so lucky. But.....I scout around and whenever I get the chance to pick one up, I try to switch one of the flock into one. I now have 5 of them - 3 dome tops and 2 playtops. I love them. On the playtops, just remove the top tray totally so light can get in at all times. I do have a steamer and it works well but I use it for occasional deep cleans. I prefer wipe down daily using Oxyfresh Gele mixed with water. Nothing has a chance to build up this way. If you're interested in my routine, let me know. I spot clean 8 cages every day in about 30 minutes.

I use a midwest double door i-crate in the 42" and its super easy to keep clean, but my baby is an ekkie so the bar spacing at an inch and a half works for him, I love not having a grate and the double doors make it easy for installing toys and perches
plus if I want to take it outside about once a month to spray it down all I have to do is take out the tray and fold it down and carry it out better than any other bird cage ive ever used |
