The best rope to use is Supreme Cotton rope. You can find it online or 100% cotton rope if you can find it and you make sure to check often and remove loose strings that they can get caught on. I have actually used old 100% cotton fabric from a pair of pants and a t-shirt to make a soft perch for my birds. Just sewed it into a tube the length and size I wanted and stuffed it with another old t-shirt. My birds love it and I can just throw it in the washing machine without having to worry about it coming apart. Plus, no loose strings or threads to worry about.

hi,
well, have tried to get cotton soft ropes in my town. havint found frm anywhere here.you knw what i have done?
that, i have simply brought a MOP frm supermarket, removed the steel grip frm bottom, and removed the bunch of cotton ropes. mmm, there is around 20 to 30 pieces of cotton ropes of 13" in length.

and have cut a pvc in small size to make swings for tiels. i was suppose to roll the rope on this piece of pvc.by tying, it is not get facinated tightly.well am i need to glue with white SR gum(FEVICOL SR)??
can anyone share few photos of swings, made by your self?? just to get an idea and to get inspired by??

defently, i will put, whatever i am making in this regarding. well, withn 3 or 4 days, my cage will be ready, after that, i will put here. where, someone can make use of these images, i am sure.
waiting to get replied
