I've seen a couple sites for $1.50/foot - haven't seen anything less.

Fowl Play On-Line Catalog

California Bird Nerds--Simple Joys and Safer Bird Toys

I've ordered from both and never had a complaint.

I got all mine at Magnolia Bird Farm (think it was a dollar a foot, but that was a while back), and have always gone in person. They had a wide variety of sizes and colors, so it may be worth giving them a call. mail order

I used to use the plastic chains and so did many of my bird friends to make bird toys etc.We found that there were many hazards in using them and have stopped using them. One situation I can remember is where Amazon managed bite open one of the linkes and get it stuck on it's tongue.Luckily the owner was there and able to remove it from it's tongue. But there were so many other cases. It may be cheap but I don't consider it safe.

I agree with sasha girl my friend lisa had a bird that got his head stuck in one of these and luckily she was there to remove it from the bird . No telling what could have happened had she not been there. No they are not safe and there are alot of ppl out there that will tell you this and believe me I have heard some horror stories . Sorry but just cause pet stores sell it ,does not mean it is safe for our fids .

Oh geez - Every toy in the cage is a hazard. Going out and driving my car is a bigger hazard. Calypso prefers to play with his chain over plucking. HE gets his chain. BTW - I got ten feet this weekend from LJO Leather - he sells the best in toys and toy parts at our fairs.

They also always have a great supply of Manzanita branches and will bring bigger ones to fairs if you ask - she was all about visiting with calypso at Medina fair.
