Looking at some cage options - work and travel

So, Mr. Huey had an appointment for his booster this morning and, because of my schedule I wasn't able to take him home between that and work. I'm pretty lucky; I work in a dog training facility so it is, obviously, pet friendly. I have my own office which is closed off from the rest of the animals. It's not a huge office, so space isn't unlimited.

Huey isn't thrilled about his current travel cage (and it isn't the best, but it serves its purpose for the little that we use it. But, he really seemed to like being at work and he seemed to do well. I'm sure it was preferable to staying home. So, I've been considering the prospects of having him come with me to work more regularly. Maybe not every day, but at least to mix things up. I don't know if there are others that have tried / had experience with taking macaws to work and if there are words of wisdom / warning / advice?

A couple specific areas of consideration are that I'd more than likely need a regular full-sized cage for him there. There are dogs in the facility (all of whom are service dogs in training), though usually the only dogs in my office on a regular basis are my two dogs - who Huey is used to. However, since space is more limited, I'm curious to see, given it's only used during the day, how small can I reasonably go? The area that most readily fits a cage is 20''x40'' He could be out when I'm in the office, but would probably go back in when I have to leave it or have someone in my office for meetings/etc.

The other consideration, if it turns out to be feasible, is that I'll need a more manageable travel case. One that could be carried as a backpack would be ideal, since it's a good quarter of a mile from the parking lot to my actual office (I work in a dog-training program as an FYI). But, in general, I'm curious as to recommendations for what people use for travel cases for larger birds.

Yes! That's exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks so much.

The other question, though, is about what a reasonable sized cage would be for work. Or even if a smaller cage is reasonable at all. My office isn't very large so a full sized cage isn't a great option. At work, he'd be inside the cage when I'm out of the office or if I have someone else in my office. Much of the time, he could be out of it. If I go out of town, he may also be boarded there so, a couple times a year, he'd be in the cage for a week at the most. His cage at home is, of course, much bigger, but would this cage be reasonable for such a situation?

In the normal course of the week, I'd foresee him being in it, at most, three hours a day. Much of the day, when I'm in my office, he could be out on a stand. Twice a year, perhaps, he'd be staying at work in that cage for a week while I'm out of town.

I think the closed dome will be fine. You might even notice he'll nap most of time your buisy and spend most of his active time when at home.
