Travel Cage...Help

I made a nice travel cage for my rescue Macaw (who LOVES to go in the car) but I dont think she likes it. She just hangs upside down instead of perching.

She will sit on the perch for a second but then hangs upside down again...lol. Honestly I am afraid she is going to fall and hurt herself while I am driving.

Am I missing something? Are the perches to high? I have tried moving them around but it didnt make much difference. I just dont want her to squish her pretty tail.

I have the poquito avian hotel for my TAG and it is perfect for her, but WAY to small for a macaw.

Any suggestions are appreciated...

Here is the cage setup

Like I said, she will perch for a second but thats it. She has plenty of head room and can hang on to the top if she feels unstable or anything???

Maybe try a rope perch? I've heard those are easier to grip while the cage is in motion.

It looks good for a travel cage! Is that one of those rough type perches that are supposed to keep nails trimmed? Maybe she doesn't like those...

Yeah I'm with the above, change the perches, maybe only provide one. One other thing I read lately it's better for the cage to be placed in the car so the perch is parralell to the side of the car not on the same plane as the bumpers, so the bird would naturally be looking out the window if sitting on the perch. This is because the motion of the car is easier to cope with when facing this way. Also, don't forget about the airbags in your car, place the cage where it will not be punded by the airbag in the event of a sudden stop/crash (heaven forbid).Your bird looks sweet too.

Never thought of placing the perch that way! Will have to change my travel cage perch orientations! Thanks!
