Does Poop-Off Really Work?

I'm wondering if anyone here has tried the product poop-off? Or does anyone have any suggestions for bird-safe cleaning products that are strong enough to clean the most stubborn spots?

I spent about 3 hours on my hands and knees cleaning my bird room floor and walls yesterday. I came across several tiny spots of sweet potatoes that had been flung onto the floor and walls by my beloved Jet. I couldn't seem to get them up using a scrub pad and hot water with a bit of Pinesol added in.

I didn't have any problems getting the poop cleaned, but the sweet potato cleanup was a true battle. I like to give my Jet sweet potatoes at least twice a week so I'm going to need to arm myself with something that will do the job. Any suggestions?

I have never used it because it is so expensive here, but I've heard it is good.

Most of the hardened on things I will spray down with a water lemon juice mix, let it sit for 5 and then it seems to come of better.

It's expensive, but it can be watered down by about 50% to make it go further and it'll still work just as well as full strength. I've been using it for several years for everything from laundry stains to bathroom cleaning and love the stuff. Buy it by the gallon, it ends up being a better deal. A steam cleaner is also good for getting stubborn sticky stuff off the walls.

I like to keep it handy to clean up any accidents that have happened on the carpeting. All the fids are potty-trained, but of course accidents happen from time to time. Ryan bought poop off wipes once...we tried those and we didn't think they worked that well. I usually use vinegar & water when cleaning cages.

I use poop off.. I think it works pretty well. I have fallen for the magic erasers (not on bird cages or anything they're on, though). If you're looking for just the wall clean up where the bird can't touch..maybe try that? It's taken stuff off walls that I didn't think it could. Especially since you just wet it and use... works great for the dirt that gets on the walls from the shepherds using the stairs like it's a nascar speedway...

I think it works well but I don't care much for the smell.

I like this product but my store doesn't carry it so I end up using other stuff I like less. It is called Avi-Clean. Avitech Exotic Birds - Supplies, Equipment and Nutritional Supplements for Birds!

Some people make up their own concoctions with vinegar (I think). If you do a search I bet you could find a recipe.

I *HATE* Poop-Off with a passion because I can not tolerate the smell of it and using a lot of it gets so ever whelming for me, yuck. It works okay as I had bought the 128 ounce gallon bottle of it and I do have like 1/2 gallon bottle left of it which would be about 64 ounces that I won't use, anyone wants to pay about $10. to ship it to you, I'd do that.

On the other hand I do use Avitech's AviClean... (avitec.com) no smell and works as well if not better, I love that stuff! It might be a little cheaper than Poop-Off.

I have no idea but if companies can ship it to stores and to us, then shouldn't we be able to ship also?

Oh yeah that lemon juice trick is wonderful...gets poos off, food off I've even used it on my oven and it did wonders, didn't hurt that it smelled great. If you buy the cheap stuff in bottles it is a lot cheaper than commercial poo remover.
